Well Nev, I'm willing to help as always, let's just hash out what you want. A couple of things:
1) Under the "Guild Find" social we might want to modify it to reflect the changes that have occurred to KR w/o making us sound as hurting as we are. For example, at least atm, we do not have an active forum and I really don't see one emerging any time soon unless KR becomes stronger again and unless Kist or someone with his talents returns and puts in the time.
2) I think that Firecatt's suggestion on PUR's has some merit. Maybe if we do a few of those it would attract non-guilded players. These should be things like Jagund, easier APW raids and so forth. If we limit these to rather easily accomplished raids it shows us in a more positive light than if we try something harder like Shiver that we have a greater potential of failure on at this point. In short, the more we succeed the better we look, and thus we look more attractive to those non guilded players that might want to join. I know that this will be rather mundane to some but I really think that we would have to start this w/ baby steps since we are hurting and the competition amongst guilds to attract new members is probably pretty high atm.
3) Referencing Zetaa's "Farewell" post, I want to make it clear that my focus, at least at this time, is NOT ON RIFT. I like VG and as I have said before I will continue to play it as long as it is viable and as long as there are folks like you to pal around with. In the event that the guild does fold, merge or whatever, it would be my intent to make a home wherever I can and try to keep the friendships I have found within KR.
4) We need a starting point as to what our resources are. By resources I mean existing members. Is Kist ever coming back? Is Cheesy? Ales? Teasey? And if they are is it going to be temporary or with the vision of getting KR on it's feet again? We might have to purge the roster like Kist did a while back but at least we would know where we stand.
5) We need to make an effort to keep the members we have. Kaval and Foxxyheals could easily become part of the core of the revamped guild. Involving the newer members in something, anything, will keep them happier than if we continue to let them go about their own business until they reach raiding level and slowly fritter away. I'm not saying that this is actually happening atm, but it has in the past and really isn't that uncommon in any guild. I'm not sure if they know about this site but I'll mention it to them so that at least we can get their input if they care to provide any.
6) If we are going to try to reform this, everyone needs to talk it up. The way that I found KR was when Siela was spamming the guild recruiting message. The message itself was interesting enough to catch my eye, I joined and then found a great family in you bunch of scallywags. Alot of members came from PUG's that KR members were in w/ non guilded players. If no one knows that we are activly recruiting than they will not come. We don't want to look like beggers or anything but lets face it we need the bodies and preferrably decent ones. As we gain more members we can bring raid nights back, get people APW gear, keep them interested in KR, and continue to build until, hopefully, we are back at full strength or at least able to advance to APW Core and possibly beyond again.
All I have for now. Shoot holes through what you want, take what you think is decent but, and apologies here Wetz, but I don't really think that we have a couple of weeks to implement at least the beginning of reformation. It needs to begin ASAP before any more bleeding occurs. Otherwise KR is DOA with the merge.
